About the Role

Hydropower Systems is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team in Welkom and Orkney, South Africa. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across our mining facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
• Fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical components
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, mine regulations, and company procedures
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
• Support commissioning and operational activities on-site
• Complete accurate technical reports and documentation

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician (Red Seal / Trade Test essential)
• Minimum 35 years experience in an industrial or mining environment
• Must have underground experience
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work on-site in Welkom or Orkney
• Valid drivers licence (advantageous)
