Job Description

A boutique 5-star wine farm in the Cape Winelands is seeking an experienced and polished Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the restaurant and estate. This role is central to the guest journey and requires someone with a warm presence, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of fine-dining and wine-farm hospitality. The position is ideal for a service professional with previous wine estate or boutique luxury experience who understands the expectations of discerning local and international guests. Minimum Requirements Candidates must meet the following criteria: Previous experience as a Hostess within a wine farm, fine-dining restaurant, or boutique 5-star environment Strong understanding of luxury guest service standards Experience managing reservations, seating flow, and guest arrivals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional appearance and confident, welcoming manner Willingness to work shifts ; including weekends and public holidays South African ID Matric (Grade 12) Hospitality qualification (advantageous) Key Responsibilities Welcome and seat guests in a warm, professional, and polished manner Manage reservations, waiting lists, and table allocations Maintain smooth guest flow during busy service periods Liaise closely with service and kitchen teams to coordinate seating Assist with VIP guests, special occasions, and bespoke requests Uphold presentation and service standards at all times Handle guest queries and feedback with discretion and professionalism Contribute to an elevated, seamless guest experience Ideal Profile Naturally warm, poised, and guest-focused Calm and organised under pressure Detail-driven with strong people skills Passionate about hospitality, food, and wine This role suits a Hostess who enjoys working in an elegant, boutique wine-farm setting where guest experience is paramount.
