Middelburg: Supply Chain & Distribution Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Leadership & Team Management Lead and manage teams responsible for supply chain administration, logistics coordination, and analytical functions. Oversee weighbridge and related operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Drive performance against operational KPIs aligned with business objectives. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 2. Inventory & Process Management Oversee Finished Goods and Work-in-Progress inventory across the organisation. Ensure accurate stock control, movement tracking, and reconciliation. Coordinate external processing activities to meet quality and turnaround expectations. Manage distribution-related invoicing processes and ensure alignment with Finance. 3. Distribution & Logistics Oversight Direct transport, warehousing, and containerisation operations in collaboration with Commercial and Procurement teams. Monitor and control distribution expenditure to maintain cost efficiency while meeting service levels. Coordinate inbound/import logistics activities in partnership with the Purchasing function. 4. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Alignment Work closely with Procurement, Commercial, Operations Planning, and Finance to align production, packing, and distribution plans. Maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers and external processing partners. Ensure operational plans are executed efficiently through strong internal and external communication. 5. External Service Provider Management Manage and evaluate performance of third-party service providers, including: Transport and warehousing partners Packing and external processing providers Employee transport service providers Negotiate and oversee service level agreements and contractual compliance. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering , or related field OR Relevant Diploma with a completed Management Development Programme (MDP) or equivalent leadership training Advantageous: Certification in Contract Management and Negotiation Experience 68 years experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution management Proven people management experience with consistent KPI achievement Strong exposure to: Inventory control (FGI & WIP) Supplier and service provider management Road, rail, warehousing, and containerised logistics Contract negotiation and performance management Minimum 2 years experience in: Invoice administration processes Cross-functional coordination with Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams
