Job Description

Our client is a reputable, a well-established Accounting practice based in Scottburgh is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage multiple client portfolios and assist with the preparation of annual financial statements. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working independently, managing multiple entities, and producing accurate financial information for review and sign-off. Key Responsibilities Manage three sets of monthly bookkeeping clients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records Perform full bookkeeping functions up to trial balance using Pastel Process and reconcile bank accounts, creditors, and debtors Capture and maintain accurate journals, general ledgers, and monthly reconciliations Prepare draft annual financial statements for review and final sign-off Manage bookkeeping and financial records for approximately 37 entities Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls Maintain organised and audit-ready financial documentation Liaise with the reviewer on queries, corrections, and adjustments Requirements Proven experience as a Bookkeeper , preferably within a practice environment Strong working knowledge of Pastel Accounting Experience handling multiple client portfolios and entities Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively Matric & relevant Bookkeeping diploma (advantage) Preferred Attributes Proactive and able to work independently Professional and client-focused Strong integrity and confidentiality Problem-solver with a willingness to learn and develop Personal Attributes Reliable, methodical, and well-organised Strong sense of accountability and confidentiality Comfortable working with responsibility and minimal supervision Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset Working Environment Office-based role in Scottburgh, KZN Supportive, professional working environment
