Our client is a well-established, family-owned agricultural business operating in the heart of the Worcester area. With a reputation for quality citrus production and a hands-on, people-focused culture, the business offers a practical, growth-oriented environment where future farm leaders are developed through real responsibility and daily involvement in operations.
They are currently seeking a Junior Production Manager (Citrus) who is eager to build a long-term career in commercial citrus production and contribute meaningfully to the success of a high-performing farming unit.
Minimum Requirements:
- Energetic, hardworking and self-driven individual with a strong passion for citrus farming.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant practical and technical experience in citrus production.
- Ability to function under pressure and apply sound, rational decision-making.
- Strong people skills with above-average communication ability at all levels.
- In-depth understanding of all citrus cultivation practices.
- Computer literate in Microsoft 365
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture.
- Solid knowledge of fertilisation and spraying practices.
- Experience with ultra-low volume irrigation systems will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Unit Manager, the successful candidate will assist in managing a production unit of approximately 160 hectares.
- Establishment, production, labour, packhouse coordination and cost management.
- Farm maintenance management and administrative duties.
- Disease and pest control.
- Fertilisation and irrigation management (pump houses and electronic systems).
- Overseeing and assisting with citrus harvesting operations.
