About the Role
Aleon Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Human Resource Practitioner to join our team in Middelburg. The ideal candidate will be a generalist HR professional with a strong background in manufacturing or mining environments, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of managing trade unions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the HR function within a specific business unit or department
- Provide proactive HR services to the respective business unit relating to recruitment, industrial relations, training (soft skills), employee benefits, policies, organizational structures, performance management, employee assistance, and HR-related administration
- Ensure the business unit adheres to relevant HR policies and procedures
- Conduct HR-related projects and research as needed
- Function independently without direct supervision, dealing with shop floor shop stewards and resolving grievances
- Provide HR-related training to employees and managers
Requirements
- BCom Degree in HR Management or related subject field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or mining environment
- 8 Years of managing trade unions
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good conflict handling skills
