About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team in South Africa. As a Trade-tested Fitter and Turner with strong technical skills, you will be responsible for providing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs while ensuring compliance with cGMP, HSSE, and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Execute planned preventive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Minimise shift downtime and improve changeover times to meet production targets.
- Practice good workmanship and maintain housekeeping of work areas, parts, and equipment.
Requirements
- Trade-tested Fitter and Turner with at least 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience with manufacturing equipment such as tablet compression machines, encapsulation machines, coating machines, granulation equipment, rotary fillers, piston fillers, sachet fillers, blister machines (rotary and flatbed), labellers, cartoners, and packaging equipment.
Qualifications
- Trade-tested Fitter and Turner qualification.
- Additional technical qualifications or experience in pharmaceutical engineering is desirable.
