About the Role
Farm Manager SA is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our mixed farming business in the Eastern Cape. We are looking for a skilled professional with a passion for agriculture, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. With 3-5 years of experience in crop and livestock farming, including lucerne and pecan nut production, you will be responsible for managing resources, staff, and finances to ensure the success of our farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general day-to-day operations of the farm
- Oversee operational management, livestock management, and resource management
- Develop and implement financial and administrative plans
- Maintain infrastructure and equipment, ensuring optimal performance
- Coordinate supply chain and marketing efforts to expand our customer base
- Implement environmental and regulatory compliance measures
- Develop strategic plans for long-term growth and success
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the farm’s progress
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma or Degree advantageous
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in crop & livestock farming
- Experience in lucerne & pecan nut production
- Experience in livestock (sheep, goats & cattle)
- Previous hunting experience advantageous
- Strong management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Being maintenance orientated essential
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Agricultural Diploma or Degree advantageous
