About the Role

Busy Restaurant in Cape Town Is seeking a skilled Pizza Chef to join their kitchen team. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious pizzas that meet our premium standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook pizzas to the highest standards, ensuring perfect dough, toppings, and baking techniques are consistently applied for every order.
  • Manage the pizza section of the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Oversee dough preparation including mixing, kneading, fermenting, and proofing, ensuring texture and flavour align with the restaurant’s premium standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop innovative pizza recipes.
  • Ensure precise and timely service during busy periods, coordinating with other kitchen sections to deliver a seamless dining experience.
  • Monitor inventory and stock levels, ordering ingredients as necessary while minimizing waste and adhering to the restaurant’s cost control measures.

Requirements

  • Culinary Certificate/Diploma
  • 2-3 years previous experience as a Chef De Partie with focus on pizza making
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanour.
  • Expertise in pizza-making techniques, including dough preparation, proofing, stretching, and baking in wood-fired or speciality ovens.
