Job Description
Guest Experience & Hosting:
Ensuring every detail of guest stay is thoughtfully supported, beautifully executed and energetically held.
Act as guest’s anchor during their stay, responsible for translating the intention into lived experience.
Warmly welcome and orientate guests on arrival
Hold and guide the flow of check-ins and check-outs
Ensure all departments are aligned for guest arrivals and key rituals
Conduct final room checks in collaboration with the Housekeeping Manager
Update bookings, guest records and manage extensions changes of stay
Schedule or adjust rituals, rhythms and experiences during a guest’s stay
Liaise with external practitioners where needed
Coordinate additional activities, transfers and reservations
Oversee readiness of public guest spaces, alongside the Housekeeping Manager
Ensure guest purchases from the Farm Shop and Atelier are processed and recorded with care
Maintain and manage guest golf cart cleanliness and readiness
House & Daily Flow Oversight:
Serve as the connection point between guests and internal teams
Guide the daily rhythm and energy of the house in collaboration with department leads
Identify and report maintenance issues and follow through to resolution
Maintain awareness of house environment, flow, and guest presence
Support activity setups and shared spaces with attentiveness and foresight
Hold a calm, clear presence within the team, flag concerns or tensions early and constructively
Ensure alignment with the standards and spirit of Sterrekopje in all touchpoints
Stock & Ordering Oversight:
Oversees several essential inventory and ordering functions to ensure the house flows seamlessly and guest needs are anticipated.
Monthly stock takes of the Farm Shop and Operating Equipment (OE)
Weekly checks to identify replenishment needs
Maintain and update digital inventory records (Tall Order, Teams, etc.)
Place and manage orders for:
- Guest stationery and amenities
- Candles
- Atelier Studio supplies
- Specific guest requests or ad hoc items
Stock should be stewarded consciously – balancing practicality with creativity, reducing waste, and ensuring readiness without excess.

Requirements:
Matric
Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Hotel Management
Minimum of 3 years Duty Manager or Assistant Hotel Management experience
Previous 5* Hotel experience
Certificate in First Aid/Fire Fighting/Health and Safety, would be advantageous
Valid Driver’s license
Computer skills including proficiency in the use of Protel & MS Office

Ability to work shifts including night shift.
