Job Description

PBT Group is seeking a Mid–Senior Automation Test Engineer with 3–5 years’ experience to support the automation and validation of modern insurance platforms. The role focuses on end-to-end test automation , API testing , and event-driven system validation within a digitally transforming insurance environment. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases across customer-facing portals and core insurance systems. Key Responsibilities Automating Insurance Application Testing Develop and maintain automated UI tests using JavaScript and Playwright Automate testing of web portals including: Policy purchase journeys Claims submission processes Agent / broker portals Customer self-service applications Validate UI behaviour across browsers, including: Pricing calculations Form validations Document uploads API Testing of Core Insurance Systems Perform automated and manual API testing for backend insurance services such as: Policy creation and endorsements Renewals Claims workflows Validate data integrity between systems (front end, policy administration, billing platforms) Event-Driven System Validation (Kafka) Test and validate event-driven architectures using Kafka Ensure insurance-related events are: Published correctly Consumed by downstream systems UI Validation & Regression Testing Perform regression testing to ensure UI consistency after releases Identify defects early in the SDLC Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices Play a key role in reducing production defects during legacy-to-digital modernisation Skills & Experience Required 3–5 years’ experience in test automation Strong JavaScript skills Hands-on experience with Playwright Solid experience in API testing (REST) Exposure to Kafka or event-driven systems Experience with UI validation and regression testing Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Experience in insurance or financial services environments is advantageous Additional Criteria Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in Agile teams Able to collaborate across QA, development, and product teams Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience * In order to comply with the POPI Act, for future career opportunities, we require your permission to maintain your personal details on our database.
