About the Role

As a Laboratory Technician at Adcorp Insights in Cape Town, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of all test and calculations performed correctly. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality system adopted by our laboratory, as well as developing, modifying, and validating new and existing methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and precision of all test and calculations are performed correctly.
  • Record raw data/calculations in the laboratory workbook.
  • Request samples as and when required.
  • Adhere to calibrations schedule for monthly standards designed to assist process control.
  • Communicate with clients and terminal personnel as and when required.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety policies of the laboratory.
  • Witness analysis at subcontracting laboratory.
  • Be available for call out or standby duties when required.
  • Work overtime as and when required.
  • Maintain sufficient stocks of chemicals, glassware, stationery, and other items necessary for laboratory tasks.
  • Practice good housekeeping at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel to perform computer-based tasks.
  • Interpret and draw conclusions from test data.
  • Report opinions and interpretations of test data.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
