- Location: Summerset West, Western Cape
Job Purpose: Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing operational, production, and business data to support decision-making, improve processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. The role blends industrial engineering principles with data analytics to drive optimisation initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and interpret operational data from multiple systems.
- Develop dashboards and automated reports (Power BI/Tableau/Excel).
- Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
- Identify inefficiencies using statistical methods and data models.
- Conduct time & motion studies, workflow analysis, and capacity modelling.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to improve processes.
- Recommend process enhancements backed by quantitative findings.
- Build forecasting models and support automation initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
- Present data insights clearly to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (essential).
- Certification in Data Analytics / BI / SQL / Python (advantageous).
- 4+ years in industrial engineering or data analytics.
Technical Skills
- Power BI, Tableau, Excel (advanced).
- SQL, Python, R (advantageous).
- Lean tools, process mapping, value-stream mapping.
- Statistical analysis including regression and forecasting.
- ERP/MES systems such as SAP, Syspro, Oracle.
