About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to join our team in Gauteng. As a hands-on machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and producing high-quality parts with minimal supervision. You must have excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis minimum)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Select tooling, set offsets, and prove out programs
- Work to tight tolerances
- Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, etc.
- Adjust feeds and speeds where necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Report any quality or machine issues immediately
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years CNC milling experience
- Solid setup experience (not just operating)
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Confident using precision measuring instruments
- Good understanding of tolerances and fits
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Qualifications
- Fanuc &/ Mitsubishi control experience is a bonus
- Basic CNC programming or program editing ability is a plus
- Toolroom or precision component background is an asset
