Durban: Talent Pool: Baler Operator

Job Summary Responsible for safe, smooth and productive operating of the baling machine that has been allocated. Responsibilities Productivity and profitable workflow Responsible to achieve maximum productivity from machinery Responsible to keep maintenance costs of machinery as low as possible Responsible to report low levels of consumables (rope, wire, strapping etc) SHEQ Responsible for maintaining SHEQ standards around machinery Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping standards around machinery Responsible for controlling the quality of product processed with your machinery Make sure that you are properly qualified and certified to operate equipment Never allow anyone that is not properly qualified to operate equipment Ensure the machine is locked out and a PTW has been issued before maintenance or cleaning on the machine takes place Responsible for keeping management informed about the condition of the machine Maintenance Responsible for filling in checklists as per specific equipment requirements Responsible to report any malfunctions immediately Responsible for basic maintenance of machine (checking oil, grease, etc) Responsible to keep machinery and workstation clean and tidy Attendance Operators must be reliable to add value to the team Operators will be monitored closely for absenteeism Record keeping Production records are to be kept and submitted regularly Operators are expected to keep a diary To record daily tasks and any maintenance done on machinery Requirements Operating experience dependent on type of machine to be operated Minimum 1 years working experience in a similar role Literate, able to fill in diary and reports Qualification to operate specific machine Employment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
