About the Role

Our client in the Finance industry is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to support the development and strengthening of Credit Risk Management policies and Investment strategies that will reduce credit risk to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible to support the Credit Risk Management Executive in developing and strengthening Credit Risk Management policies and Investment strategies that will reduce credit risk to the business.
  • The CRA will support the CRME through financial and portfolio data analysis to identify key credit risks and support forecasts that will assist in reducing credit cost, strengthen investment strategies and improve portfolio quality.
  • The CRA needs to analyse financial and portfolio data as to provide statistical information on portfolio concentrations, composition and trends.
  • The CRA develops financial, mathematical and statistical models for forecasting credit risks in a variety of situations considering anticipated environmental changes, legislation, market movements, annual performance results of blue-chip and benchmark companies, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • The CRA supports the achievement of the organization’s CRM plan and strategy and its annual goals and objectives.
  • The CRA assists the Credit Risk Management Executive (CRME) in building and maintaining a robust and effective credit risk culture.

Requirements

  • BSc / B. Com Honors in Finance, Economics, Risk, Risk Analysis, Quantitative Finance, Statistics or Applied Mathematics
  • Relevant Master’s degree an advantage
  • CFA is an advantage
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Investment/Financial Analyst
  • Exposure in SME lending an advantage
  • Strong Financial/statistical modelling skills
  • Sound financial and credit risk knowledge
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Due diligence related knowledge and experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Industry and market analysis
  • Report writing skills
  • Commercial awareness
