About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Reporting Accountant to join our dynamic finance team based in Sandton, Johannesburg North. As a key member of our operations-driven environment, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality financial reports, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Compile executive and Board reporting packs, including detailed variance analysis
- Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing meaningful insights into cost drivers and operational results
- Draft annual financial statements (AFS) using CaseWare (or similar), ensuring full compliance with IFRS / IFRS for SMEs
- Prepare audit-ready files, including supporting schedules, reconciliations, and disclosures
- Liaise with external auditors and resolve audit queries efficiently
- Assist with group consolidations, including inter-company eliminations and reporting alignment
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including the preparation of financial models and variance reports
- Prepare and review tax calculations, provisional tax, and supporting schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet, including reconciliations and follow-ups on outstanding items
- Report on capital expenditure, tracking project spend against approved budgets
- Provide insights into operational and cost performance, including cost drivers and efficiency metrics
- Assist with statutory compliance, audit processes, and company secretarial requirements (CIPC, resolutions, and annual returns)
- Ensure that strong internal controls, governance, and audit trails are maintained
Requirements
- BCom Accounting (or equivalent)
- 35 years of experience in financial reporting and AFS preparation
- Strong CaseWare experience (non-negotiable)
- Solid knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
- Experience with management accounts, consolidations, and reporting packs
- Exposure to tax calculations and SARS submissions
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Experience in mining is advantageous
