About the Role

Join a leading South African business with a significant national footprint as a Reporting Accountant, where you’ll play a key role in delivering management reporting, building dashboards, driving automation, and supporting the adoption of AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management reports and providing meaningful analysis and commentary.
  • Performing variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Identifying trends, anomalies, and key business drivers to support decision-making.
  • Supporting executive and management reporting with insightful analysis.
  • Building and maintaining sophisticated Excel models and reporting frameworks.
  • Developing and enhancing dashboards and visual reporting solutions using Power BI and related tools.

About the Role

A Reporting Accountant is required to join a growing finance team in Johannesburg, playing a key role in delivering accurate, insightful, and IFRS-compliant reporting across the business. The ideal candidate will have a passion for financial reporting, strong technical skills, and ambitions to grow their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management & Group Reporting: Preparing monthly and quarterly management reports, Assisting with group reporting requirements and consolidations, Analysing financial performance and identifying key business trends.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS, Supporting audit preparation and ensuring compliance with reporting standards, Preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foreign Exchange & International Exposure: Assisting with foreign exchange reporting and reconciliations, Supporting international reporting requirements where applicable, Exposure to international financial processes and controls.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Working extensively with Excel to analyse and report on financial information, Assisting with the transition from QuickBooks to Acumatica, Identifying opportunities to improve reporting efficiencies and controls.

Requirements

  • BCom Accounting or Finance, SAICA articles advantageous
  • 13 years’ accounting or reporting experience
  • Exposure to management reporting and financial reporting IFRS knowledge and audit preparation experience advantageous
  • Foreign exchange exposure beneficial
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Experience on QuickBooks advantageous
  • Exposure to Acumatica beneficial but not essential
