Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Onsite Desktop Engineer to join our team at DBN North for a 6-month contract. As a key member of our IT support team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of desktop hardware fundamentals, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Be a technical escalation point to resolve incidents which lower tiered Engineers are unable to resolve
Be a mentor to lower tiered Engineers
Write Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for common tasks
Work within a Service Desk ticketing application and ensure that tickets assigned to you are communicated on and resolved with SLA
Assist Operations Managers with technical queries when needed
Willing to work unscheduled overtime if required

Requirements

Senior level experience and understanding in Microsoft Windows for Endpoints, Microsoft Office, and Desktop/Laptop hardware fundamentals
Mid-level experience and understanding in Mimecast Anti-Virus, Microsoft Active Directory (On-Premise), Microsoft Group Policy, and Network WAN and LAN fundamentals
Entry-level experience and understanding in Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Network Firewall, Switches, Access Points, Routers, and Controllers, as well as Third-Party Applications (Exclaimer, Code 2, Sage, M-Files)
Ability to work in a multi-tenanted environment and with other Business Units and Vendors

Qualifications

Grade 12
A and N (Required)
Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (Beneficial)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (Diploma, Beneficial)
