About the Role
The ideal Financial Assistant will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership within a fast-paced, internationally focused environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and capturing transactions in Pastel Partner across multiple local and international entities
- Performing multicurrency bank reconciliations
- Loading and managing online banking transactions (multicurrency)
- Assisting with monthly account closures
- Preparing the underwriter payment process, including bordereaux production, reconciliations, and market communications
- Liaising with broking and technology teams to ensure accurate system integration and financial reporting
- Assisting with year-end processes
- Monitoring and supporting the recovery of large aged debtors
- Supporting finance-related HR processes, including distribution of payslips and IRP5s
Requirements
- Relevant undergraduate degree (preferably in Commerce or Accounting)
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in an accounting/finance role
- Experience working within a small to medium-sized, fast-growing South African business with an international footprint will be advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of Pastel Partner
