About the Role
The Senior Safari Consultant is a senior revenue-generating position responsible for designing, selling, and delivering bespoke, high-value safari journeys across Southern and East Africa. This role requires strong commercial acumen, advanced destination knowledge, independent itinerary planning skills, and the ability to confidently close sales while delivering an exceptional luxury client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently design, cost, and present bespoke safari itineraries.
- Translate client briefs into well-paced, seasonally aligned journeys.
- Confidently close sales and manage objections.
- Take full ownership of sales pipeline and conversions.
- Maintain long-term repeat and referral relationships.
- Ensure trip files are accurately closed and documented.
Requirements
- 35+ years experience in luxury travel or safari consulting.
- Proven ability to independently plan and close complex itineraries.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation ability.
- Exceptional organisation and time-management skills.
- High proficiency in booking systems, spreadsheets, and CRM tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep appreciation for personalisation and detail.
- Passion for conservation and responsible tourism.
Salary & Benefits
R30,000 – R40,000 depending on knowledge, experience, and suitability.
