About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team in Kempton Park, South Africa. As a key member of our accounting function, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting function for three companies using Sage Pastel. You will work closely with management to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, preparation of monthly management reports and reconciliations, and maintenance of proper accounting records for audits and reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full accounting function for three companies using Sage Pastel
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Prepare monthly management reports and reconciliations
- Maintain proper accounting records for audits and reviews
- Perform reconciliations of intercompany transactions
- Ensure accurate elimination of intercompany balances
- Support management with clear reporting of intercompany accounts
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements for three companies
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Requirements
- Minimum education: BCom degree in Financial Accounting or Financial Management
- Completed SAIPA Articles
- Minimum applicable experience (years): 0-2 years
- Full accounting experience for small to medium-sized companies
- VAT knowledge, particularly with import/export transactions
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Sage Pastel
