About the Role
Aleon Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Human Resource Practitioner to join our team in Middelburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing proactive HR services to a specific business unit, ensuring compliance with relevant HR policies and procedures, and resolving shop floor grievances. We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently and provide expert advice on HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive HR service to the respective business unit relating to recruitment, industrial relations, training (soft skills), employee benefits, policies, organizational structures, performance management, employee assistance, and HR related administration.
- Offer subject matter expertise regarding HR-related advice on a daily basis.
- Ensure that the business unit adheres to the relevant HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct HR-related projects as needed and perform HR-related research when required.
- Function independently without direct supervision in most cases.
- Deal with shop floor shop stewards and actively resolve shop floor grievances.
- Provide HR-related training to employees and managers on occasion.
- Prepare HR-related reports.
Requirements
- BCom Degree: HR Management or related subject field
- Minimum 10 years experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or mining environment.
- 8 Years managing trade unions.
- Relevant Legislation Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Employment Equity Act.
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in English speaking, reading, and writing.
