About the Role
As a Unit Manager at Edgexec (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, you will lead operations that keep everything moving. This is an opportunity to manage a critical warehouse function where precision, performance, and people leadership intersect. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and dispatch.
- Plan and coordinate workflow to meet daily and weekly operational targets.
- Oversee loading, offloading, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Maintain accurate stock records and investigate discrepancies.
- Lead and motivate a team across various functions, including dispatch, stores, cleaning, and driving.
- Manage scheduling, leave, and attendance to ensure consistent coverage.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained.
- Prepare performance reports and support audits or inspections.
- Identify process improvements and assist with technology implementation.
- Oversee repair and maintenance of vehicles and warehouse facilities.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) essential; Diploma in Logistics/Warehouse Management advantageous.
- 35 years experience in warehouse supervision or management, ideally within retail, onboard catering, or inflight service.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with an eye for accuracy and safety.
- Computer literacy (MS Office and inventory systems).
- Sound knowledge of stock control, warehouse operations, and OHS standards.
- Organised, results-driven, and adaptable under pressure.
