About the Role

Liham Consulting Pty (Ltd) is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team in Johannesburg. As the Agri chemical and mineral Sales Representative, you will be responsible for expanding our product offering into the customer base, with a focus on Industrial Minerals and chemicals. You will also be expected to travel to all SA provinces as and when required to grow the regional customer base.

Key Responsibilities

Compiling and presenting quotes
Follow up and close deals
Frequent communication with customers by email, phone call, and face-to-face visits
Expanding product offering into customer base
Monitoring customers’ demands, buying habits, determining forecasts, and creating strategic approaches
Conducting research, analyzing market information, and applying it to proactively expand the customer base
Monitoring suppliers and market share tendencies, import and export trends, and market prices
Negotiating contracts with customers within limits of authority
Successfully negotiating commercial terms with customers through support from finance department
Attending industry-specific trade days and shows
Facilitating sales process from beginning to end with other staff members
Maintaining and servicing existing Boron, minerals, and chemicals customer base in the Agri industry

Requirements

Matric/Gr 12
Any tertiary education is an advantage
2-5 years of sales/trade experience in the Agricultural sector (highly advantageous)
Success in growing customers and products in previous roles
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Excellent command of MS Office applications, Excel, and formulas
Effective in internal and external communication and across various cultures
Knowledge of logistics and operations
Knowledge to selling across the African Continent
Understanding of import/export principles
