About the Role
The purpose of this Senior Designer â Fire Protection role is to design high-quality, impactful, and fully compliant fire protection systems that deliver value for money solutions for clients. As the design technical lead in project teams, you will represent the design function and ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate design for allocated projects by preparing for project, understanding design requirements, defining preliminary design project timelines, leading project team and managing delivery of project to standard and deadlines as scheduled and per agreed project plan.
- Participate in project meetings to understand customer and operations requirements by attending, verifying technical requirements and specifications, verifying compliance complexities, discussing project timing and deadlines and gathering information to share with design team (if relevant) as scheduled and required.
- Lead project design teams by allocating design tasks to team members, defining critical success factors, providing technical guidance and oversight and integrating all parts of design into final design within deadline.
- Manage project design compliance and quality by reviewing completed designs, verifying against compliance and quality standards and requirements, amending, approving and submitting for final signoff within deadline.
- Present designs to project teams (sales, operations and technical) by attending meetings, presenting designs, receiving feedback, debating design amendments and implementing approved changes as and when required.
- Mentor junior design project team members by monitoring design process, providing guidance and technical advice and supporting improved delivery from design team members as required.
Requirements
- Skills in fire protection design and engineering
- Experience with AutoCad and/or Revit software
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and regulations
Qualifications
- ASIB / IFE Certificate or similar (qualification not available, significant relevant experience will be accepted)
