About the Role
Career Crew Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Health, Safety, and Environment Manager to join our team in Mozambique. As a key member of our FMCG operations, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards. With a strong background in food safety and manufacturing, you will play a critical role in driving safety standards across our production, warehousing, and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and enforce safety and food hygiene policies aligned with R638, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and ISO standards.
• Implement and maintain ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments (HIRA), and regular site audits to identify non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Deliver training on hygiene, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), fire safety, and first aid to build a proactive safety culture.
• Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and food safety incidents, providing reports and remedial actions to top management.
Requirements
• A National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in Food Technology, Environmental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related science field.
• SAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Course) is highly desirable, along with FSSC 22000 or HACCP certification.
• 5 -10 years of experience in HSE and compliance within the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) or food manufacturing sector.
• Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) 1993.
