About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Sales Person to join our team in Johannesburg, near Roodepoort. As a key member of our sales function, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, maintaining customer relationships, and promoting our metal fabrication capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target industries (manufacturing, construction, mining, industrial engineering, fabrication)
- Conduct cold calling, emailing, social media outreach, and site visits to generate leads
- Visit client sites to understand fabrication needs and identify opportunities for quoting
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and opportunities
- Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Provide professional customer service, ensuring enquiries are responded to promptly
- Assist clients with understanding fabrication capabilities, including materials, cutting, bending, welding, assembly, finishing, and bespoke fabrication work
- Gather technical information from clients to prepare RFQs (Request for Quotation)
- Work with internal estimators, engineers, and production teams to prepare accurate quotes
- Assist in preparing and presenting proposals to clients
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and convert them into sales orders
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments
- Identify potential new sectors or applications for fabricated metal products
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) essential
- 1–2 years’ sales experience (any technical/industrial sales is beneficial)
- Strong interest in engineering, fabrication, or technical industries
- Basic understanding of engineering or metal fabrication processes (training provided)
Qualifications
- Technical certificate or diploma in Fabrication, Engineering, Welding, or Manufacturing (beneficial but not required)
- Past exposure to metal fabrication workshops or industrial client environments (advantageous)
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly salary: R 15 000 – R 25 000 for Junior, more for a Senior
- Commission on top (salary package is dependent on skills, Qualifications and years of relevant experience only)
- Discretionary Annual Performance Bonus
- Pension Scheme (taken off net salary, not negotiable)
