Johannesburg: Blow Moulding QC Inspector / Supervisor – Plastic Manufacturing

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of blow-molded products in a plastic manufacturing environment. As a Blow Moulding QC Inspector / Supervisor, you will play a critical role in identifying defects and deviations, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality of blow-molded products
  • Identifying defects or deviations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Inspecting blow-molded parts at start-up, in-process, and final stages
  • Checking for defects such as flash, short shots, bubbles, warpage, sink marks, colour variation, burn marks, and weld lines
  • Approving initial samples and first-off parts before production runs
  • Ensuring raw materials meet required standards
  • Verifying machine parameters and production settings align with specifications
  • Maintaining inspection records, test results, and quality control documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry regulations
  • Collaborating with operators, mold setters, and supervisors to resolve quality issues
  • Performing customer-mandated testing (e.g., dimensional checks, leak tests)
  • Preparing reports and communicating findings to the QC Manager and production team

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of blow moulding and plastic processing is preferred for this role
  • Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers) is required
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Ability to read technical drawings specifications is necessary
  • Good communication and documentation skills are required
  • Previous experience in a Blow Moulding QC Inspector or Technician role working within a plastic injection or blow moulding factory or plant is essential
