Stutterheim: SHE Officer

About the Role

The Stutterheim SHE Officer is responsible for providing support and guidance to Managers on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) matters within the Group, ensuring a safe working environment for employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to Managers on OHS matters
• Investigate incidents using root cause analysis tools and compile incident reports
• Implement, monitor and enforce compliance to OHS legislation
• Conduct OHS audits
• Review and update safety management systems and related training programmes
• Monitor and report on all incidents and accidents
• Provide first responder assistance to medical emergencies (during and after hours)
• Compile and present Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports
• Participate in workplace committees and forums
• Assist and participate in fire-fighting operations
• Manage emergency preparedness of sites
• IOD (Injury on Duty) mitigation and management

Requirements

• SAMTRAC Qualification or equivalent
• Occupational Health and Safety Act Training Certificate
• Firefighting and emergency procedures training
• Min 3 Years related experience in ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act in a forestry related industry
• First aid/medical response training
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Strong administrative skills
• Valid drivers license
