About the Role
As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading our dealer network in achieving sales targets and driving business growth. You will work closely with Dealer Principals to develop training plans, mentor staff, and ensure consistent training attendance across the region. Your expertise in the commercial or truck industry will enable you to provide specialist knowledge and support to our dealerships, while maintaining a high-quality work ethic and efficient management of operational budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor available training offered to the dealer network to ensure consistent training attendance by branch and dealer staff
- Assist Dealer Principals with setting up training plans to upskill staff members and create strong teams
- Participate in relevant training programmes offered to ensure continued competence within the business
- Mentor internal staff to ensure staff backup plans are in place
- Monitor staff morale at dealers and branches and assist in correcting any problem areas that could hamper the brand
- Manage work efficiently with clear communication
- Assist dealers and branches in achieving 100% vehicle sales targets
- Ensure planning and cost-saving controls are maintained within operational budgets, including travel and vehicle usage
- Ensure dealer visits adhere to structured visit cycles to minimise unnecessary travel and expenses
- Ensure dealer debtor books are controlled and all vehicle stock payments are made within required policy timeframes
- Ensure all invoiced vehicles are settled within 48 hours from invoice date
- Ensure approved loan and demo vehicle usage adheres to agreed timelines and usage parameters
- Conduct monthly and quarterly follow-ups on agreed action plans
- Assist dealers in resolving operational and business-related challenges using structured problem-solving methods
- Collaborate with the internal marketing team to ensure marketing initiatives are successfully implemented at dealer level
- Monitor customer complaint resolution processes to ensure positive brand management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent tertiary sales qualification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Valid Code 8 drivers licence and own vehicle
- Commercial or Truck Industry experience
- Previous dealer network exposure is essential
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and relationship management abilities
- Confident and proactive approach with the ability to anticipate issues and requirements
