About the Role

The Cost & Management Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insights into project profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for overseeing project financial performance, ensuring accurate costing, reporting, and analysis across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and report on project profitability
• Prepare project-specific balance sheets and income statements
• Analyse financial statements and performance of individual projects
• Perform job costing across multiple entities
• Create and maintain job codes, ensuring adherence to internal processes
• Monitor and audit site hours worked against revenue generated
• Conduct expense and variance analysis, highlighting inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure accurate and timely project accruals on a monthly basis
• Maintain detailed and up-to-date project records and tracking systems
• Oversee timely invoicing following the approval of contract certificates
• Assist with forecasting project revenues and financial performance
• Support the maintenance of asset registers

Requirements

• BCom in Accounting, Finance
• CIMA or related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in cost and management accounting (project environment advantageous)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
