About the Role
The Senior Pricing Manager, Logistics role is a critical position that requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in logistics pricing, procurement, or commercial freight environment to lead our pricing strategy across air, ocean, road, warehousing and 3PL solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive rates and quotations across air, ocean, road, warehousing and 3PL solutions
- Analyse cost structures, carrier tariffs, surcharges, seasonal fluctuations and fuel movements
- Develop detailed pricing models aligned to internal margin requirements
- Respond to urgent rate requests with speed, accuracy and commercial awareness
- Lead pricing submissions for global and local RFQs, RFPs and tenders
- Coordinate cross-functionally with sales, operations and procurement teams
- Ensure all tender documentation is complete, accurate and professionally presented
- Track tender timelines, clarifications and post-submission follow-ups
- Maintain strong working relationships with airlines, shipping lines and transport providers
- Negotiate preferential rates, space allocations and seasonal incentives
- Monitor carrier performance, reliability and schedule changes
- Continuously optimize rate agreements in collaboration with procurement
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in logistics pricing, procurement or commercial freight environment
- Proven experience managing global and multinational tender pricing
- Strong relationships with major airlines, shipping lines and transport providers
- In-depth knowledge of South African and global freight markets
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modelling, lookups, formulas)
- Experience across air freight, ocean freight (FCL & LCL), road freight, warehousing and 3PL
