Queenstown: Depot Manager, Queenstown

About the Role

The Depot Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our depot, ensuring efficient and effective management of large-scale transport operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of transport operations, principles, and practices, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage / control depot operations daily
• Evaluate driver behaviour
• Conduct regular route and road checks
• Review route reports
• Determine fares and fare grids
• Update schedules and rosters
• Monitor functionality of ticketing systems
• Perform vehicle maintenance servicing/preventative maintenance
• Report road conditions to local government
• Oversee H&S audits
• Ensure adherence to road traffic regulations and passenger safety
• Review vehicles for roadworthiness
• Adhere to contracted services and service development standards
• Prioritize communication with stakeholders
• Develop and implement operational plans
• Conduct concise reporting on depot operations

Requirements

• NQF 7 (Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma) qualification in Operations Management or Transportation Management
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Operations or Transportation Management
• 4 years experience at management/supervisory level
• Heavy Duty Motor Vehicle Drivers License
• Proficiency in MS Office
