About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Anti-Poaching Unit Manager to join our client’s luxury game reserve in Namibia. As a live-in senior operational role, this position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated conservation professional to make a meaningful impact in a high-risk conservation area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead multi-disciplinary field teams in remote, high-pressure settings
  • Develop and implement effective counter-poaching strategies and operations
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and conservation organizations to share intelligence and best practices
  • Conduct regular patrols and monitoring of the reserve’s boundaries and wildlife populations
  • Provide training and support to K9 units, aerial surveillance teams, and other reserve personnel on security procedures and protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, arrests, and intelligence operations

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ senior experience in Counter Poaching Unit Management or equivalent military/security industry role in a high-risk conservation area
  • Tertiary qualification in wildlife conservation, natural resource management, security operations or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of law enforcement/security legislation; experience with arrest and apprehension procedures, particularly in wildlife crime, is advantageous
