About the Role
A reputable government institution is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Company Secretary / Company Secretary to join its Corporate Governance team, providing strategic governance and company secretariat support to the Board and Committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic governance and company secretariat support to the Board and Committees
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and governance standards
- Draft, review, and vet contracts and legal documentation
- Advise on legal risk, procurement, and regulatory compliance matters
- Supervise and guide governance support staff
- Conduct research to support policy and governance decision-making
Requirements
- LLB degree (essential)
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate Registration with CGISA (Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa) will be a distinct advantage
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Assistant Company Secretary or Company Secretary
- At least 5 years’ experience at a supervisory level
