Job Description
- An agricultural qualification (degree or diploma) would be beneficial, though not essential
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in a farm management or middle management role within the citrus sector
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Innovative thinker with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
- Confident leader with solid people management and supervision skills
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects within set timeframes
- Computer literate
- Willing and able to reside in the Addo area
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the crop estimation process, working closely with farm teams and Supply Chain to ensure accurate and up-to-date planning information
- Oversee and implement all core farming programmes, including fertilisation, spraying, pruning, planting, and harvesting
- Provide strong leadership during harvesting to ensure production targets are met, while maintaining close communication with the Area Manager and packhouse to align harvesting and packing schedules
- Monitor daily farming operations to ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and operational performance
- Foster positive working relationships with internal departments and farm staff
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
