Job Description
Cape Town – Western Cape – South Africa
- Serve as the primary system administrator for the Salesforce environment (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).
- Internal user management, including creation of accounts, profiles, permission sets, and roles.
- Manage login policies, system security settings, and field-level security/sharing rules.
- Handle core administrative functions, including workflows, reports, dashboards, and routine system tasks.
- Design, configure, customize, and test business solutions on the Force.com platform according to specifications and standards.
- Create and maintain custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types, and apps.
- Build advanced automation solutions using Flows, Process Builder, and Approval Processes where required.
- Configure and customize Digital Experiences (Experience Cloud) to align with business requirements.
- Maintain and/ or troubleshoot existing Salesforce integrations with external systems using APIs, Web Services, and AppExchange products.
- Adhere to architectural standards.
- Design and implement custom data models, including objects, fields, and relationships where standard Salesforce structures are insufficient.
- Import, export, and update data using tools (Salesforce Inspector, Data Loader).
- Maintain data integrity through deduplication, validation, and cleansing processes.
- Build and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics for business decision-making.
- Implement declarative automation (Flows, Apex, platform events).
- Evaluate and recommend software products based on functionality and value.
- Design and maintain Salesforce process automations to streamline business operations.
- Manage sandboxes (refreshes, seeding) and migration of master data.
- Prepare test cases, test data, and test for quality.
- Monitor system health, performance, and error logs.
- Resolve configuration and system issues proactively.
- Manage releases, system upgrades, and integrations with other platforms.
- Stay current with Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices.
- Enforce data governance and compliance standards across the platform.
- Maintain security policies, role hierarchies, permission models, and data sharing rules.
- Ensure adherence to company and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Provide first-line technical support, troubleshoot issues, and manage support tickets.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Deliver training, documentation, and guidance to end-users to drive adoption.
- Keep stakeholders updated on task progress in line with Agile methodologies.
- Partner with developers and third-party vendors on complex customizations and integrations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Communicate and align with mobile app developers where Salesforce functionality integrates with apps.
- Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, and system configurations.
- Track time spent on tasks and report progress against deliverables.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding development and release schedules.
- Deliver a configured CRM system on the Salesforce platform to meet business requirements.
- Ensure ease of maintenance by implementing best practices and architectural standards to limit customization.
- Enhance the CRM system to meet time, quality, and cost expectations.
- Comply with all company standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Comply with all regulatory rules, including but not limited to FSCA, FAIS, and SARB (where relevant).
- It is desirable that the candidate have proven expertise in both business and technical facets of the role, including:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification (Salesforce Certified Administrator).
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Salesforce Administration and release management.
- Ability to solve problems and/or deliver innovative solutions.
- Ability to cope well under pressure and remain calm in dynamic situations is crucial.
- Ability to prioritise and focus on multiple tasks to achieve positive outcomes is crucial.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to explain complex issues in easily understood language that convey key messages successfully at all levels of the organisation.
