Job Description

Position Specification: Mid – Level Attorney

Area: Durbanville – Western CApe

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years post-admission experience

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must be admitted as an Attorney in South Africa
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage own matters with minimal supervision
  • Practical experience in General Litigation

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior exposure to or expertise in Construction Law will be highly regarded

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel
  • Bilingual proficiency in Afrikaans and English (read, write, and speak)
  • Candidate must currently reside in Pretoria or Centurion areas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and run own caseload across general litigation matters independently
  • Advise clients on legal aspects with a focus on construction-related law and civil disputes
  • Draft, prepare, and review legal documents and contracts relevant to construction and litigation
  • Attend court, mediation, and arbitration sessions as required
  • Maintain professional client relationships and support colleagues when necessary

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both Afrikaans & English
  • Strong client service orientation

About the Role

Virago Recruitment is seeking a Mid-Level Attorney with expertise in Construction Law to join our team in Durbanville, Western Cape. As an independent practitioner, you will manage and run your own caseload across general litigation matters while providing expert advice on construction-related law and civil disputes.
