About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Stellenbosch Elegant Bistro, a signature deli and bistro in the heart of Franschhoek Winelands. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in running the busy kitchen daily
- Support the head chef in daily operations
- Manage staff and maintain control over kitchen personnel
- Create innovative menu options for daily specials
- Utilize ingredients effectively to ensure high-quality dishes
- Maintain accurate menu costing, stock control, and budgeting
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience within busy a la carte restaurant operations
- Experience in fine dining style cuisine with fresh contemporary plating
- Strong staff management and control skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in culinary arts (if applicable)
