About the Role
The Administration Controller role at Edgray Distributors (Pty) Ltd t/a JUMBO is a critical position that requires exceptional administrative skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing clerical information processing tasks, updating and maintaining Store Operations records and registers, and providing routine procedural information to the general public.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash: Ensure daily banking in conjunction with the Store Manager as per procedures; balance cash ups with banking; lock drop safe and keep key; check cash float and spare keys.
- Administration: Control administration standards; prepare requisitions for stock replenishment; ensure daily morning filing; authorize transactions 5A level; lay-byes are the responsibility of Admin Controller and Cashiers; conduct spot checks on Cashiers; control change daily; general filing of memos and correspondence; data capture of stock received and sent from branch.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in back office and Cash Desk area.
- Security/Risk: Manage security of back office and front cash desk; ensure tags are secured on merchandise; meet Health & Safety standards; prevent shrinkage by implementing company processes and procedures.
- Customer Services: Train staff in customer service at the cash desk; assist customers with enquiries and complaints; apply Customer Service principles daily; continuously satisfy customer needs and attract clientele.
- People Management: Manage performance and development of cash desk staff; ensure all procedures and policies are followed; enforce disciplinary action when necessary; manage time and attendance of staff.
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- NQF 5 Certificate in Retail/Business Administration
- Computer Literate: Word and Excel
- 2 years in relevant sales/cashier environment
