PURPOSE OF THE ROLE We are seeking a motivated recent graduate with a strong interest in data, systems, and investigative problem-solving to join our team as a Graduate Data Analyst on a project basis. The role is linked to a structured graduate development programme and associated project requirements, providing exposure to real-world data analysis, systems management, and problem-solving within a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, tracing information across systems, and solving practical business challenges while gaining hands-on experience with SQL, CRM platforms, and APIs. You will play a key role in supporting daily data investigations, resolving internal data tickets, and ensuring high standards of data quality and accuracy. WHAT YOU WILL GAIN Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with CRM systems (academic or internship experience is acceptable). Exposure to APIs and JSON (Postman experience is an advantage). Strong analytical and logical thinking skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency. This is a full-time, hybrid position, offering the flexibility of working both remotely and from our head office in Mowbray, Cape Town. During the probation period, you will be required to work on-site full-time. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. SQL & Scripting for Data Discovery Write basic SQL queries (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY) to locate and verify information. Navigate database tables to identify correct data sources for investigations. Troubleshoot missing, mismatched, or duplicate data. Develop repeatable queries/scripts to answer recurring data questions. 2. CRM Data Exploration Search, filter, and extract data from the CRM platform. Understand and work with CRM entities (Accounts, Contacts, System Users, Custom Entities). Follow relationships across CRM records to complete investigations. 3. API & Postman Usage Use Postman to perform GET/POST requests to retrieve and validate data. Work with API fundamentals (endpoints, query parameters, headers, authentication tokens). Interpret JSON responses and extract relevant data fields. 4. Operational Responsibilities Data Ticket Management Receiving: Understand and clarify user data requests or issues. Assigning: Categorize and route tickets to senior developers when required. Investigating: Run SQL queries, CRM searches, and API calls. Validate data accuracy and completeness. Resolving: Provide clear and accurate responses. Ensure solutions meet internal data-quality standards. Documentation: Update tickets with steps taken, queries used, findings, and resolutions. Identify and log repetitive issues for future automation opportunities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Qualification: A recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
