Medium sized company in East Rand (Benoni) is looking for a WELL EXPERIENCED person to join their finance / accounts department. The person will be directly overseen by the Director and Accounts Manager. The company is well established, and needs an individual that can interpret and assist with managing the business accounting practices. The person should have extensive knowlage on financial account, VAT and financial reporting and interpretation of the business’s financial position. Professional registration with a relevant body is required. This person must have a very solid understanding of financial principles , creating accounts and capturing debtor and creditor data. This person will also work with bank reconciliation statements and will allocate payments. Invoices and statements will have to be sent out. The person will work closely with management and a very high level of confidentiality, ethical behaviour and integrity will be required. Although there are other teams in the company eg. nursing staff, laboratory analysts etc, the candidate will be integrated primarily with senious management to ensure proper financial management throughout the whole company. The company works with standard accounting software that is geared to record testing transactions and general business expensis. Experience in working with medical and or laboratory accounting packages and medical aids will be an advantage. Experience with Quickbooks, Pastel Sage etc. will be of advantage. The position is ideal for persons that can perform routine transactions perfectly, but still be able to recognise, trace and solve problems. The company is medium sized, and this is not a financial management and administrative position. Qualifications and experience (candidates without essential requirements need not apply as they will not be considered): Grade 12 or equivalent (essential) Verbal & written communication skills (essential) Computer skills (Microsoft, Outlook etc.) (essential) Knowlage of accounting packages, management and usage experience (essential) B.Comm or equivalent financial degree / diploma and certification is essential Financial courses / training Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications and experience, an advantage: Office administration Accounting experience, knowledge of bookkeeping practices, and generally accepted accounting principles and procedures Key Competencies: Work on your own not having to be micro-managed and spoon-fed Planning, organizing and attention to detail Information collection and monitoring, forward thinking to advance business Problem analysis and problem solving Communication skills, strong personality and work in a high-performance team Strong leadership characteristics that will enable the person to discuss and debate financial descision appropriately Previous managerial and business management experience will be an advantage The work times can be flexible to suit a candidates preferences.
