About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician with a software focus specializing in automation integration systems to join our client’s team in Pretoria. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for collaborating with installation teams, programming and troubleshooting PLCs and robotic systems, and providing guidance and support to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with installation teams to ensure project success
- Create and maintain project documentation and reports
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and robotic systems
- Conduct fault-finding and debugging on automation systems
- Assist with mechanical and electrical installations
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior staff
- Integrate various automation equipment
Requirements
- Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Industrial Automation
- OR Applicable trade certificate (Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronic)
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Proven PLC programming and robot programming experience
- Automotive sector experience preferred
- Kuka Robots – 3 YEARS MINIMUM (practical experience, not just certification)
- Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs experience highly advantageous
