About the Role
We are seeking an experienced La Carte Chef to join our team at a premium seaside restaurant in Gansbaai, Western Cape. As a permanent position, you will have the opportunity to lead the hot, cold, and pastry kitchens, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality dishes and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and pastry sections
- Prepare and cook seafood, premium meats, seasonal produce, and desserts
- Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen assistants
- Maintain food quality, hygiene, and sustainability standards
- Manage stock, portion control, and food cost efficiency
- Contribute to menu planning, specials, and seasonal changes
Requirements
- 7+ years professional culinary experience in busy la carte restaurants
- Strong seafood knowledge and meat butchery skills
- Culinary Arts Diploma/Certificate (preferred)
- Valid Food Hygiene Certificate
- Reliable transport; willingness to relocate to Gansbaai if not local
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
