About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for reverse engineering existing components, creating 3D models, and assembling parts to ensure accurate fitment and manufacturing details.

Key Responsibilities

Reverse engineer existing components with high accuracy
Create 3D models of components using Autodesk Inventor
Assemble parts to ensure accurate fitment and manufacturing details
Modify and create new components as required
Check own drawings against company standards and ensure all relevant sizes and notes are included

Requirements

5 years’ experience in draughting for heavy industrial/mining equipment industry
Mechanical engineering and fabrication knowledge
Strong experience with Autodesk programs (Vault, Inventor, AutoCAD, 2D & 3D)
Attention to detail and good understanding of drawings and standards
Understanding of measuring equipment and tolerances

Qualifications

Matric
Professional Certificate in Mechanical Draughting
