Heidelberg: MECHANICAL DRAUGHTSMAN

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-driven Mechanical Draughtsman to join their engineering team in Heidelberg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent computer literacy skills. If you are passionate about precision, technical drawings, and supporting project engineers with high-quality documentation, this role may be perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic design calculations for pump sets, base plates & auxiliaries
• Detailed component design: materials, tolerances, machining, weld maps & procedures
• Create customer drawings: GAs, baseplates, piping & sectional drawings
• Pump station, piping & system layout design
• Redraw & create 3D models/assemblies from 2D drawings
• Update drawings when revisions are required
• Maintain drawing office systems & documentation control
• Liaise with Sales, Projects, Workshops & other departments
• Assist with monthly reports, parts lists & general office filing
• Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
• Support colleagues with daily tasks when required

Requirements

• Matric
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Draughting Certificate
• 5 years experience in a similar role (pump manufacturing/maintenance advantageous)
• Understanding of machining, geometric tolerances & engineering specs
• Exposure to mechanical, structural, plant & pump station environments
• Strong computer literacy CAD / AutoCAD / Inventor
