The role involves managing payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements in South Africa, and assisting with the financial oversight of multiple global companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international finance, with a focus on management accounts and multi-company consolidation. The position requires strong technical knowledge of payroll and accounting practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. This is a hands-on role, best suited to a professional with experience outside of Africa who can navigate the complexities of global financial operations and deliver operational and financial outcomes.Minimum

Requirements:

Fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA with at least 5 years PQE.Experience with Xero (preferred)Payroll qualification (preferred)Minimum of ten years experience in a senior finance role, including payrollProven experience producing consolidated management accounts for international companies (preferably including UK and US)Hands-on experience working in a group with multiple entities, with responsibility for both operational outcomes and oversightFully qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA with at least five years of post-qualification experienceSolid knowledge and understanding of payroll principles, processes, and proceduresThorough understanding of local tax legislation and practicesAdequate knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting standardsHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Strong problem-solving skills with excellent numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detailExcellent communication skills across all staff levelsGood time management and organizational skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion at all timesDuties and

Responsibilities:

PayrollOnboarding employees as well as maintaining and updating payroll recordsAssist in answering employees questions regarding payroll-related mattersResponsible for timeous and accurate payroll processing, reporting and reconciliationsEnsuring that all payroll statutory submissions are completed timeously (PAYE, UIF, SDL)Processing all monthly SARS payments on E-filingPreparing monthly EMP201Reconciling and submission of EMP501 at tax year endDistributing IRP5s at tax year endIssuing of payslipsAssisting the Senior Finance Manager with the global payrollFinancePreparing VAT reconciliations and submissions to SARSManaging statutory requirements for SA including CIPC submissions, compensation commissioner returns etcAssisting with month-end closing processes including general ledger reconciliation, intercompany charges and consolidated management accountsPreparing financial reports with commentary and analysis when required for the Senior Finance ManagerAssisting the Senior Finance Manager with budgets and identifying variances with explanatory narrativesUpdating the project management software and understanding the project finances for analysis purposesBookkeeping tasks such as reconciling bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable overviewProviding general assistance to the Senior Finance ManagerPlease do not apply using Scanned CVs, no supporting documentation is required at this point, this will be requested later.Kontak Recruitment Disclaimer:Equal opportunity: All backgrounds are welcomed, with no bias.
