Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and finalize audits in compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and South African standards.
- Lead fieldwork, including risk assessments and audit strategy preparation.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring teamwork and skill development.
- Review team members` work and provide constructive feedback.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively.
- Ensure adherence to SAICA, IRBA, and other local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct quality reviews of audit files to ensure compliance with firm policies.
- Draft financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other frameworks.
- Present audit conclusions and key findings to clients and management.
- Stay updated on changes in auditing standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Recommend process improvements for audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Auditing, or related field (e.g., BCompt, BAcc, or CTA).
- Completion of SAICA articles is mandatory.
- Experience in a medium-sized audit firm is preferred.
- Post-articles experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in auditing software and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CA(SA) designation is advantageous but not required.
- Commitment to ethical standards and attention to detail.
