Job Summary
Hire Resolve is seeking a Junior Portfolio Compliance Officer on behalf of our client, a leading African investment, savings, insurance, and banking group. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven individual to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional financial solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with portfolio guidelines and regulatory requirements, contributing to the organization`s mission of sustainable long-term value creation.
Responsibilities
- Work with portfolio compliance officers, legal, and operations teams.
- Review, interpret, clarify, and sign off mandate guidelines and conditions.
- Assist in monitoring mandate guidelines and restrictions and establish automated/manual processes for compliance.
- Code mandate requirements and legislative rules within compliance systems like Charles River.
- Conduct peer reviews of coded rules.
- Interact with traders and portfolio managers to resolve compliance breaches and queries.
- Apply knowledge of relevant legislation, such as Regulation 28, CISCA BN90, Medical Aid Schemes Act, and others.
- Classify investment instruments as needed.
- Seek ways to continuously improve and refine portfolio compliance processes.
- Compile compliance monitoring reports.
- Resolve portfolio compliance issues and participate in related meetings.
- Address ad hoc compliance queries.
- Navigate and extract information from back-office systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor`s Degree, preferably BCom.
- Asset management experience is advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
- Experience with portfolio compliance systems like Charles River and back-office systems such as Infostore and HiPortfolio is highly advantageous.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and identify compliance breaches.
- High attention to detail.
