Job Summary
Functions
- Load and check bins with goods for particular delivery route allocated.
- Assist packers with the packing of orders
- Receive trip sheet and become familiar with the route for the day for deliveries
- Confirm that the orders on the trip sheet are complete and that there is nothing outstanding
- Check that the strapping of the boxes is done and that it has been placed in delivery sequence by van assistant
- Assist the van assistant with the loading of the parcels.
- Verify with security before dispatching that the trip sheet matches the contents of the delivery
- Ensure that trip sheet is completed with scheduled time of delivery, drop off, signature from recipient and mileage
- Upon return ensure that trip sheet is given to the dispatch supervisor immediately
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on allocated vehicle
- Ensure that vehicle is kept clean and neat at all times, participate in good housekeeping
- Ensure that no unauthorized people or goods are loaded into allocated van
